Turn a sideways photo the right way up, mirror a selfie or straighten a wonky horizon with PixOtter's free rotate and flip tool. Rotate 90° left or right, flip horizontally or vertically, and fine-tune the angle by half a degree at a time. Everything happens on your device.
How to rotate & flip image online
- Add an image. Drop a JPG, PNG or WebP above, or click to browse.
- Rotate or flip it. Use the 90° buttons, or flip horizontally or vertically.
- Straighten if needed. Drag the slider up to 45° either way.
- Download the corrected image.
Why use PixOtter's Rotate & Flip Image?
- 90° rotation left or right
- Mirror flips horizontal and vertical
- Straighten in 0.5° steps
- Live preview before you save
Worked example
You photographed a letter and it shows sideways in an online form. Add the photo, click Right 90° once and download: the saved file is upright everywhere, because the pixels themselves are turned rather than relying on an orientation tag.
For a horizon that slopes slightly, drag Straighten to around 2°, then crop the small corners off with Crop Image.
When people use it
- Fixing sideways phone photos that upload the wrong way round
- Mirroring selfies so writing reads the right way
- Straightening horizons and buildings in travel photos
- Turning scanned documents the right way up
- Creating mirrored designs for print-on-demand and iron-on transfers
Good to know
Straightening by a few degrees leaves empty corners (white for JPG, transparent for PNG and WebP), so crop afterwards. Small-angle rotation blends pixels and softens the image very slightly. The saved file does not keep the original's EXIF data.
Rotate & Flip Image, frequently asked questions
How do I rotate a picture that is sideways?
Add it above and click Left 90° or Right 90° until it is the right way up, then click Download image.
How do I mirror a selfie?
Click Flip horizontal. Front cameras often save a mirrored image, so flipping it shows text and faces the way other people see them.
Why does my photo show sideways on some sites?
Phones often store the photo one way and add an orientation tag. Some sites ignore the tag. Saving the image here writes the pixels the right way round, so it displays correctly everywhere.
Can I rotate by any angle?
Combine the 90° buttons with the Straighten slider, which goes up to 45° either way, to reach any angle.
Does flipping change quality?
No. A flip or 90° turn moves pixels without blending them.
